My last holiday

I spent my last holiday in a little town, in Sopron, next to Austria. I took part Hungary’s second biggest, most exciting, multicultural festival, called VOLT. (You know like Glastonbury, just in Hungary.)  It was organised in the beginning of July, the warmest season of the year. There are invited such fantastic bands, like Franz Ferdinand, Prodigy, Massive Attack, Air and etc…

Getting there was quite easy, because Sopron is just 80 km away from my hometown. The train journey took one hour but it wasn`t boring, because my friends were with me.
Taking part in a music festival is always the best, and the most enjoyable thing for me in the year. The camping, where the festival was organized is full with interesting, young-ish people. The festival was quite international, I met people from Austria, France, Germany. (Unfortunately, VOLT is not so international, like SZIGET, where you can nearly hear Hungarian voices because of the large number of foreigner visitors.)
I lived with my boyfriend in the same tent, in the neighborhood of my friends. Our pernament place wasn`t luxurious but it was good to go there and sleep after a tiring party. Actually, we found a quite good place, the field wasn`t bumpy at all but it was quite noisy because we were close to the metal stage.

The weather was fantastic I wore vests, shorts, and sandals.
I felt myself totally free; I could live for 5 days a perverse life, without any stress. I had a shower in cold water, I ate nearly nothing, just drank water all day, and the evening some champagne, or beer with raspberry. I danced whole night until 4am, then I had a quick shower and I felt asleep in my tent.  I waked up around 10am, because our tent was as warm as a sauna, then I relaxed with my boyfriend and with a cup of coffee in the shadow of the trees. It wasn`t so hot, thanks God!

When I had energy I went to central of Sopron. (The festival was organized in the edge of the city, in a camping, called Loverek.) Sopron is a beautiful town, with a long history, there are buildings from the Roman Empire times, together with the Renaissance, Baroque structures. It was really intimate just walking around on the streets are covered with cobble.
Sopron is the significant wine producing region, My friends spent quite much time with chilling in the cool cellars, where they tasted some great wine.

I am really disappointed, because in this summer I couldn`t take part in VOLT festival, because I`ll work in London. Maybe in 2012… I can’t wait!
