my Christmas

For me Christmas losts its magic. My best Christmases were when I was a little girl. I was so excited because of the presents, I couldn’t sleep the night before Christmas Eve.

In the last 5 years it was the same… Me and my Dad decorate the christmas tree. (We use the same decoration as every Christmas.) Around 4pm we eat the food my mum cooked. We open the presents, and after all I go to my room to use the computer, my dad goes his room to watch telly, and my mum stays int he living room to watch telly.
I know it’s not good but to tell the truth I don’t want to change this situation.

On the 25th December, we visit my father’s parents who live 30km away in a small village. We meet my dad’s younger brother and his family. We eat the biscuits my grandmother baked.

On the 26th December, we visit my mum’s elder sister, who lives in a village 19km away. She lives int he same house with her adult son, and adult daughter, who has a 9 year old boy. This boy is called SzebasztiĆ”n, he is my godson. The christening was 2 years ago.

So, In Hungary we celebrate the Christmas in 3 days. (24th, 25th, 26th December) My dad and me go to church on every Christmas day. (My mum doesn’t believe in God.) We make confession to eat Christ’ body.

The present by my Secret Santa

Well, we needed to by some new decoration, like this small discosphere, because some of our old Christmas tree decoration were broken.

Our tree. I know it is kitschy, too decorated.

23th December

I live from 250 km away from Budapest. The journey take 4 hour by train. So usually it is a very boring time. when I came home my friends travelled with me, so we had fun!

I hope you don’t think I am big-headed but to tell the truth we have a very good sense of humour. We laughed so much, one of us was crying because of the laughing, and my stomach was hurt because of the permanent laughing.

Let me introduce my friends! We studied in the same high school.

Vekki is from a rich family. They have a turkey farm. Most of my ex class-mates were from a rich family and they were snob and big-headed. I like Vekki because he isn’t big-headed because of the money of his parents.
He studies liberal arts, he is really interested in film studies, and in philosophy.

Imi wants to be a doctor, he studies medicine. This university is one of the hardest in the country. Hungarian doctors are welcomed all over the world, because of the high level of their knowledge.
He usually studies 3 hours per day, he has to study latin language.
So, he has to study hard to become a doctor.

22th December

I had a trip to Budapest, I visited my sweetest sweetheart, Panka.

She is 18, studies in high school. She wants to be a nursery-teacher. We shares our passion in fashion and in art, both of us in love with champagne, and false feather eyelashes.

She lives with her parents, and with her dog in the 8th district of Budapest, which is my favourite area.

The 8th district was the poorest area long-long time ago in Budapest, and was considered the nightmare of tourists and hungarians as well. The area was said to be dangerous and stongly advised to avoid.

This district is constantly developing, and I think it’s a very cool place, like Brooklyn in New York.
If you plan a trip to Budapest, you must take part in the „Budapest Beyond Sightseeing” and you can know more about this interesting area. (http://www.beyondbudapest.hu/)

So, I met Panka, we went to have a lunch in the Italian Cultural Institute. This is one of the favourite places of Panka. She usually eats there with her daddy, who has a forge next to the institute.
So, our luch with Panka was a sandwich with fresh squeezed orange juice and tiramisu. It was really delicious!

After we went to Allee shopping mall, to buy Christmas Present to her boyfriend, Laci. We bought a grey cap in H&M and a black basic T-shirt and a black scarf in Zara.

We had to hurry because we were invited to a student-hostel party by our common friend, Vekki.

We were wearing black feather false eyelashes and it was funny because everybody stared us on the tube, on the tram, on the bus.

So, we went to the student hostel where we met Vekki. We were talking, listening music, drinking champagne, and wine. Panka and me just spent there 2 hours because we had to go to the party in Morrisons’ 2 club. It is a lovely place because the cocktails before 9pm are really cheap.

I didn’t want to drink more alcohol but Panka drank her favourite cocktail Orgasm. Orgasm is made with Amaretto, honey, cream, Cointreau, Bailey's. In my oppinion it is a too sweet drink but she loves it.

In this club we were dancing, and went to home quite early around 12pm because we were extremly tired.

I wish I could come home...

It was just a small amount of snow but you know… In London the traffic goes easily wrong because of just a little snow.
Heathrow and Gatwick were closed, Stansted cancelled several flights. I was nervous because I wanted to come home on the 19th December.

My plan was going to Stansted by Stansted express. That is why I went to Tottenham Hale by tube and then I wanted to change to the train. I was shocked when I realised Stansted Express is cancelled.

Fortunately, an Italian boy helped me, who works at the airport as a headchef. We went together by train back to Liverpool Street Station to catch the bus to Stansted.
I was lucky, I arrived to the airport in time, and I could fly to home without any inconvenience.

I landed in Graz where my parents were waiting. Graz is the closes airport from my hometown, so the journey (from Graz to Szombathely) didn’t take too much time, just 1,5 hour.

I was really tired because I didn’t sleep well the night before of my journey.
I went to bed so early so my first day at home wasn’t so exciting even so I was very happy and satisfied.

What is in my bag?

This is my old bag. I bought it last November in my hometown, Szombathely. It is an oversized bag, so I can carry  lots of things.

I always read METRO  on the train on my way to the college. I keep this newspapers because I enjoy doing Sodokus when I am bored.
I bought some orange&banana juice in Tesco this morning.
My skin is really dry, so I need to cream it really often. I apply Palmer`s cocoa butter to my hands, and to my lip. It is ideal for deep moisturisation, it makes my skin really silky. For my face I use Balea (German cream) in the pink bottle. It is cheap, and you get great quality for your money. I can recommend this product to everybody. The problem is you can`t buy it in UK.

I picked one Morley Magazine I can read it on the train when I go home.

I have a map of London, it is always in my bag, in case I get lost.

I wear black leather gloves, to cover and protect my hands from the cold wintertime.

I have my water bottle from Selfridges. I copied Lara, because she had  this kind of bottle first. I found it quite practical because of the water filter you can fill it everywhere from the tap, so I don`t have to pay for mineral water.

I eat too much chocolate, and because of this I have spots. I use a foundation everyday, and there is always in my bag. I feel myself more confident when I am wearing it. I am not totally satisfied with the quality of it, so please guys don`t buy an expensive foundation by No.7.

My Oyster card and my National Rail Card are always with me as well. I live in the 3rd zone, so I commute every morning. Ususally I go by train to Elephant&Castle, and after I walk to Morley College, or I take a bus to Lambeth North station.

I caught a cold, my nose is blocked, so I need these nasal  drops.

I keep my cards in my wallet. It is an LV wallet. I am not sure is this an original product, I bought it from an internet auction site similar to e-bay.

At last my keys.

My last holiday

I spent my last holiday in a little town, in Sopron, next to Austria. I took part Hungary’s second biggest, most exciting, multicultural festival, called VOLT. (You know like Glastonbury, just in Hungary.)  It was organised in the beginning of July, the warmest season of the year. There are invited such fantastic bands, like Franz Ferdinand, Prodigy, Massive Attack, Air and etc…

Getting there was quite easy, because Sopron is just 80 km away from my hometown. The train journey took one hour but it wasn`t boring, because my friends were with me.
Taking part in a music festival is always the best, and the most enjoyable thing for me in the year. The camping, where the festival was organized is full with interesting, young-ish people. The festival was quite international, I met people from Austria, France, Germany. (Unfortunately, VOLT is not so international, like SZIGET, where you can nearly hear Hungarian voices because of the large number of foreigner visitors.)
I lived with my boyfriend in the same tent, in the neighborhood of my friends. Our pernament place wasn`t luxurious but it was good to go there and sleep after a tiring party. Actually, we found a quite good place, the field wasn`t bumpy at all but it was quite noisy because we were close to the metal stage.

The weather was fantastic I wore vests, shorts, and sandals.
I felt myself totally free; I could live for 5 days a perverse life, without any stress. I had a shower in cold water, I ate nearly nothing, just drank water all day, and the evening some champagne, or beer with raspberry. I danced whole night until 4am, then I had a quick shower and I felt asleep in my tent.  I waked up around 10am, because our tent was as warm as a sauna, then I relaxed with my boyfriend and with a cup of coffee in the shadow of the trees. It wasn`t so hot, thanks God!

When I had energy I went to central of Sopron. (The festival was organized in the edge of the city, in a camping, called Loverek.) Sopron is a beautiful town, with a long history, there are buildings from the Roman Empire times, together with the Renaissance, Baroque structures. It was really intimate just walking around on the streets are covered with cobble.
Sopron is the significant wine producing region, My friends spent quite much time with chilling in the cool cellars, where they tasted some great wine.

I am really disappointed, because in this summer I couldn`t take part in VOLT festival, because I`ll work in London. Maybe in 2012… I can’t wait!
